My name is Anne Hirsch. I am licensed by the state of Florida (MW143) and a certified professional midwife.
My training includes three years of academics and clinical work through the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. During those three years I worked alongside local midwives doing clinical practice, as well as traveling to St. Mary's Hospital in Jamaica to train with midwives there. I am in my fifth year of private practice here in St. Petersburg. My love is "home birth" and "home visiting" care because this gives you, the childbearing woman, your baby and your family the most personal, empowering, safe maternity care and allows for a safe, gentle birth for the baby.
I live in a cozy bungalow with lots of windows for fresh air. My perma-culture yard yields yummy organic food. Lots of lizards, birds, an occasional snake and other wildlife visit my corner of the world right here in the middle of St. Petersburg, Florida. I love being in my home and I know you love being in yours. Isn't that the place to have some of the most important intimate experiences of your life - your pregnancy and the birth of your baby?

birth and postpartum.
On
a more personal note, I am the mother of one daughter, now 23
years old and a graduate of a Florida university. I chose a
midwife for my own maternity care.
