Prenatal care is provided at your home.
Home visiting revives the tradition of personalized, client-centered care.
Initial visit (usually done at my office) includes:
- Orientation to care
- Signing consents
- Reviewing medical and pregnancy history
- Risk assessment to evaluate for home birth
- Discussion of danger signs & things to avoid in pregnancy
- A diet history form is given to you to fill out
- Suggest guidelines for optimal nutrition
- Physical exam
- Pelvic exam with PAP & cultures
- Blood work for screening
Regular prenatal visits (usually done in your home) include:
- Checking your blood pressure, pulse, weight gain & urine
- Measuring the size of your uterus to evaluate baby's growth
- Monitoring baby's heart beat, position and movement
- Standard lab work and tests
- Nutritional evaluation
- Exercise recommendations
- Remedies for common discomforts of pregnancy
- Discussion of emotional and social well being
Ultrasound referral available as needed.
Treatment of medical conditions requiring medications or other interventions requires consultation with or referral to a physician or obstetrician.
